Description

Accountability has always been central to CIVIC's work. Whether engaging communities affected by conflict, partnering with donors, or working alongside governments and security actors, CIVIC has sought to build trust through openness, evidence, and responsible stewardship.

Web3 technologies provide new ways to extend these principles through transparent governance and verifiable financial infrastructure.

This proposal asks whether these technologies should become part of CIVIC's governance philosophy.

The proposal is founded on the following assumption:

Greater transparency strengthens trust and confidence in humanitarian action.

What the Community is Voting On

By approving this proposal, the community agrees that:

• Transparency should become a default design principle for CIVIC's Web3 ecosystem whenever it is compatible with humanitarian principles, operational security, and the protection of affected communities.
• CIVIC should explore governance and treasury models that increase visibility into decision-making, resource allocation, and ecosystem stewardship.
• Future governance proposals should progressively introduce transparency mechanisms that reinforce accountability while respecting the ethical and operational realities of humanitarian work.

This proposal establishes a governance direction rather than mandating specific technical solutions.
